The Bee Gees
Barry Gibb (1946); Robin Gibb (1949 - 2012), Maurice Gibb (1949 - 2003)
The Bee Gees are three brothers: Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb; three outstanding songwriters, singers, producers and musicians.
With record sales estimated in excess of 200 million, the Bee Gees became one of the most successful pop groups of all time.
Music historian Paul Gambaccini described Gibb as "one of the major figures in the history of British music" and "one of the best white soul voices ever"
owing to his distinctive vibrato-laden soulful voice.
NOTE
The evolution of the band's name and logo happened in two stages.
In 1967, the word "THE" was officially dropped from their name by the decision of Robert Stigwood,
the band's newly appointed manager, for marketing and strategic reasons.
Later, in 1975, the iconic "Old English" gothic logo was introduced;
it was custom-lettered by creative director Ernie Cefalu and illustrated by artist Drew Struzan
from the legendary design agency Pacific Eye & Ear, beautifully fitting the short and symmetrical name Bee Gees
